Chenique Boutelle, LCSW, PMH-C is a licensed clinical social worker and certified perinatal mental health professional specializing in the emotional and psychological challenges of pregnancy, birth, postpartum, and early parenthood. She helps clients navigate identity shifts, life transitions, and perinatal mood disorders with a compassionate, strengths-based approach. With a deep passion for birth and reproductive justice, she is committed to ensuring equitable, trauma-informed care for all parents. Currently pursuing doula certification, she recognizes the importance of integrated care that uplifts and empowers families.
As part of this lactation collaborative, she recognizes the deep connection between feeding experiences and mental health and is passionate about integrated care that uplifts and empowers families.
Chenique's personal journey into perinatal mental health began when she worked as a medical social worker. While supporting families in the hospital setting, she felt limited in her ability to provide support given the short term nature of her interactions. She craved deeper, meaningful connections to empower parents in navigating the complexities of early parenthood.
In 2020, she had my own transformative experience when she became a mother. Despite her training and knowledge, she found herself struggling. The challenges of new parenthood, compounded by isolation, gave her firsthand insight into the emotional intensity of this period and the importance of a supportive village. This work is not only her passion but also deeply personal—She is committed to being a source of support, validation, and advocacy for parents in need.
Recognizing the profound connection between mental health, identity shifts, and lactation, she is honored to be part of this collaborative, working alongside others to ensure that families receive the compassionate, comprehensive care they deserve.
